OCTLIGHT is commercializing an OCT Swept Source based on VCSEL technology, which provide superior performance in terms of size, spectral quality and wavelength tuning speed. A limitation of the VCSEL technology is that the output power from the VCSEL is around 1 mW while many applications require 15 mW or more. The output power can be amplified using a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA). The Actphast project together with research institute VTT will aim at developing a cost-efficient solution with a free-space optical coupling of the VCSEL and SOA. Following the project completion the results will be transferred to OCTLIGHT packaging partners such that current packaging methods can be optimized for a superior performance at a competitive cost.

The research leading to these results has received funding from the European Union Seventh Framework Programme (2007-2013) under grant agreement no. 619205.

OCTLIGHT is honored to have been selected as one of the beneficiaries of the Eurostars™ programme in cut off 7 with the project “BLINK”. Read the official press release from Eurostars here.

The BLINK project which is coordinated by OCTLIGHT is one of the 119 new research and development projects selected for funding by Eurostars – a programme sponsored by EUREKA member countries and the European Commission. Together with our partners Region Hovedstaden and Optolab from the Bern University of Applied Sciences the aim is to demonstrate OCT imaging with an innovative and affordable Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Engine that is capable of generating wide field 3D OCT images.

We will be present at LASER World of PHOTONICS 2017 in Munich, Germany. We will be there Tuesday, June 27, and would love to tell you about our development process and discuss your needs according to your product road map.

Please contact us and we will return to you to schedule a meeting.

OCTLIGHT has been selected as one of the beneficiaries of the Horizon 2020 EU SME Instrument. Read the official press release here.

This is Phase 1 of the instrument, which grants the company €50,000 to be used for exploring and assessing the technical feasibility and commercial potential of a breakthrough innovation that a company wants to exploit and commercialize.

OCTLIGHT is one of seven Danish companies accepted in the first application round of 2017, joining the batch of 184 small- and medium-sized enterprises that was selected from a total of 2111 applicants.

Provided with about € 3 billion in funding over the period 2014-2020, the SME Instrument helps high-potential SMEs to develop groundbreaking innovative ideas for products, services or processes that are ready to face global market competition.

We look forward to work together with stakeholders towards improved diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. Contact us to learn more.

OCTLIGHT has been awarded a Public Grant from Markedsmodningsfonden. Read press release from Erhvervsstyrelsen.

The aim of the Market Development Fund is to promote growth, employment and export, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises in areas where Denmark has particular strengths and potential. The Fund has three primary focus areas:

  • Market development through co-funding for private enterprises’ innovative solutions
  • Market development through innovative public procurement
  • Market development through industry partnerships

We will be present at BIOS 2017 Photonics West 2017 in San Francisco, California, USA. We look forward to update current customers and meet new to discuss applications of our OCT Swept Source.

Please fill out this contact form about your availability and we will return to you to schedule a meeting.

OCTLIGHT has been award a grant from Innovation Fund Denmark.

Innovation Fund Denmark invests in new knowledge and technology creating growth and employment in Denmark.

The aim of the project is to bring to market a product for retinal imaging.
