CEO
Thor has been CEO of OCTLIGHT since its founding in 2014, and he has driven the company to its present position together with an international team of dedicated engineers.
Thor holds a Ph.D in Photonics Engineering from The Technical University of Denmark, together with executive education from Harvard Business School, and he has more than 10 years of experience in the fabrication of semiconductor technology. OCTLIGHT was founded based on the results of Thor´s extensive research for his Ph.D in semiconductor technology.
CTO
Kresten is CTO and has responsibility for the continued scientific development of the company. Kresten is an expert in semiconductor lasers and fabrication technology, and he is an affiliated professor at The Technical University of Denmark. Kresten is experienced in SI and III-V semiconductor technology from equipment through development to manufacturing and has extensive experience in this field from the former Danish telecom company GiGA, which was sold to Intel. Kresten holds a Ph.D in Telecommunications from The Technical University of Denmark..
The Board of Directors provides a strong strategic business acumen to drive performance and development of high-tech companies as well as a vast industry experience within med-tech business and industrialization of high-tech.
Chairman
Finn has decades of extensive management experience as majority owner and group CEO of Informationsteknik Scandinavia and DIS A/S, building the companies into a world-leading conferencing audio provider, until their acquisition by Shure in 2011. Finn holds several board positions and is an investor in several companies within technology.
Board Member
Kirsten has profound executive management experience from several start-ups and contributes with strong strategic business acumen in business development and growing top and bottom lines from large international companies such as Glud & Marstrand and start-ups such as Green Hydrogen Systems. Kirsten holds several board positions and is investment director at the Innovation Incubator at the University of Southern Denmark.

Jacob holds a Ph.d. in integrated optics for telecommunication and has more than 10 years of executive management experience from med-tech and high-tech companies within optics, sensors, and electronics. Jacob is CEO at the MedTech company Advalight, and previously he was CEO of Sonion MEMS, which introduced the world’s first silicon microphone (now TDK).
Board Member
Jakob has more than 20 years of executive business development experience as well as management experience from high-tech companies. For most of his career, he has been working within the photonics business. He has worked with a range of technologies from Photonics to MedTech, notably as CEO of NKT Photonics which has become a leading supplier of fiber lasers and supercontinuum lasers built around its photonic crystal technology.
The Advisory Board supports the firm with specialized knowledge within biomedical optics and real-life testing in the medical environment of new optical technologies.
Peter E. Andersen has more than 20 years of experience in research and development of bio photonic imaging modalities, light sources for biomedical optics, including developing OCT systems, and nonlinear microscopy. He leads the activities within biomedical optics at DTU Health Tech and has been coordinating several European research consortiums.
Michael Larsen is a medical doctor and Professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine, Ophthalmology at Denmark´s largest hospital Rigshospitalet. He heads research activities within retinal diseases and has more than 10 years of experience in testing new optical technologies for diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.
