Caliper-FLEX and Caliper-HERO are based on Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems (MEMS) Vertical Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser (VCSEL) technology that does wavelength sweep and a Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (SOA) to amplify the output power from 1mW to 15-50 mW. The Caliper product range is designed for integration into OCT systems and contains driver electronics, temperature control, and interface electronics including an A-Scan trigger for synchronization with beam scanning.
